TED NUGENT Endorses BOUCHARD In Michigan Senate Race
January 27, 2006The Associated Press is reporting that Ted Nugent has endorsed Oakland County, Michigan Sheriff Mike Bouchard for U.S. Senate.
Nugent's choice was announced Thursday by the Bouchard campaign. Bouchard is one of three Republican candidates seeking to face Democratic U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow in the November election.
Nugent, known as the Motor City Madman, is a nationally recognized hunter, conservationist and gun rights advocate.
Bouchard is expected to face two ministers, Keith Butler and Jerry Zandstra, in the Republican primary.
Butler is a former Detroit City Council member who heads up the Word of Faith International Christian Center Church in Southfield.
Zandstra is on leave from his jobs as a Cutlerville minister and as program director of a Grand Rapids-area think tank.
